My Story...so far

Thanks so much for visiting EXCEED Tutoring! I am Jennifer, the founder and primary tutor. 

I have over 30 years experience teaching children and adults math, reading, spelling, life skills, and more. I spent many years working with adults and children with various disabilities in a variety of settings. My early experiences taught me just how important it is to develop a personal relationship with the students and their families. So, in 2016 I began offering tutoring for students struggling with academics. This evolved into the non-profit learning center, Leap Ahead Center for Children and Families, Inc. in southern Indiana. Leap Ahead provides tutoring services for K-5th graders in all subjects year round. They also provide early childhood programs for 2-5 year olds year round. My goal in creating Leap Ahead was to provide a high-quality, affordable option for the children and families in Greene County. Even though I now live in Allen County, Leap Ahead is still providing those services with amazing staff and volunteers while I still serve as executive director. ​I have extensive experience and training working with children who are on the autism spectrum, have dyslexia, ADHD, sensory needs, high anxiety and more. Over the past 4 years I worked with many gifted students who are twice-exceptional. 

 I have a BS in Education with a minor in early intervention. I am trained in the Barton Reading System as well as the Orton-Gillingham method of teaching through IMSE. In 2023, I earned my certification in Applied Educational Neuroscience through Butler University as well.

I believe all children should be given the support they need to EXCEED expectations and I would love to support YOUR CHILD in whatever way I can.
